KSI Realty New York Inc.’s Broker and President, Marc-Henri J. Kijner, had the distinct privilege as a Host Committee member, to attend the VIP pre-party of the Algemeiner's 5th annual Summer Benefit.
The Algemeiner is the fastest growing Jewish newspaper in America, serving as a valiant media voice addressing the most compelling issues of our time, with vision, integrity, and moral clarity.
On September 15th, 2016, The Algemeiner hosted at the Midtown Loft & Terrace on 5th Avenue its Summer Benefit that honored the esteemed journalists Lara Logan, 60 Minutes Correspondent, CBS News, and Seth Lipsky, editor of The New York Sun.
Milan Chatterjee, former UCLA Graduate Student Association President was also invited to speak. As you might know, Milan who is an Indian-American law student, was raising money for an upcoming event at UCLA but agreed to run the event on condition that it had no association with any anti-Israel groups such as BDS. After setting up these conditions, the student was bullied and harassed continually by pro-BDS and pro-Palestine groups. It got so bad, that he resorted to leave UCLA to protect his life and enrolled at NYU law school to continue his last year of JD. The Algemeiner picked up this story and highlighted the poor handling of the situation by the UCLA administration that forced Milan in exile. The journal helped raised over 50,000 views in 24 hours of this preposterous situation. The Algemeiner offered a voice to Milan when no one else would and showed the crucial importance of free and independent Journalism in today’s world but also how the Jewish people are solidary to any member of any community that is oppressed and discriminated against.
The event was also a great opportunity to meet and great with the doers and makers of the young professional Jewish community in New York. A sumptuous buffet, with an open bar that overlooked the Empire State building and New York City skyline complimented this evening.
KSI Realty New York Inc. is very proud to have been associated with this event, which benefited some of the most esteemed and free thinking journalists of today’s press. A type of Journalism that is not afraid to speak for the Jewish community and other communities at large that are being too often discriminated against and stigmatized by the fact that they are not anti-Semitic groups with secondary agenda such as the destruction of the State of Israel, the oppression of free press on inconvenient topics or the trample of women and gay rights in America and around the globe!
