The rising cost of a single room in NYC

In a city where finding the right apartment in terms of location, overall condition and price is an endless challenge to most tenants, many who cannot afford living on their own, have turned to renting a single room instead. Although living with roomates is much less expensive than by oneself, in recent years, the price of a single room has dramatically increased to sometimes top $2,000 per month in certain Manhattan's neighborhoods!
